Aim of course

The objects of the lectures tend to get basic informations and knowledge on industrial monument preservation and industrial archaeology. Special attention be meant for the history and the methods of industrial archaeology and the duties as well as the strategies of monument preservation when dealing with the industrial heritage.

Subject of course

The history of industrial revolution, the history of industrial monument preservation in Austria and in several European countries, the development of industrial archaeology to be established as a scientific field; definition of terms like 'technical monument' or 'industrial heritage' as well as 'industrial landscape'.
