Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the theoretical aspects of monument preservation and monument science. They are able to discuss and work on current research topics in a medium and long-term perspective.

Subject of course

Fundamentals of monument preservation and heritage sciences. Congruence and contradiction - charters, conventions and declarations on heritage conservation

History of monument preservation, monument values, fundamentals, principles and definitions, theoretical discussion, charters, conventions, memoranda (international, national and local).

Discourse about social and political relevance of monument preservation, formulation of current research topics, medium and long term perspectives.
