After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently formulate a research project according to academic-scientific rules. You can use it to correctly create and submit a research proposal. In addition, they were introduced to the Code of Conduct for Science.

The students get their first practical experience in creating a meaningful and meaningful title for the work and scientific questions and methodology. You will delve into the logical structuring of the work, the correct citation and paraphrasing and the creation of source lists and appendices. The preparation of abstracts (short versions) as well as scientific introductions and concluding remarks (conclusio) is practiced intensively

The students meet regularly in small groups (privatissima) to report on their progress on their master theses (masterthesis) and dissertations. The basics of scientific work (code-of-conduct, structuring, language of a scientific work) are periodically reviewed with everyone. In addition, the students are invited to public lecture series in the field. Last but not least, they are encouraged to take part in specialist conferences, sometimes together with the lecturer, or in the various colloquia that the faculty or the Vienna architecture schools offer together

Auf allgemeinen Wunsch wird es zusätzlich zu den Einzelbetreuungsstunden dieses Semester für alle Dissertierenden bzw. die schon Interesse bekundenden Kandidaten und Kandiatinnen 4 Treffen in der gesamten Runde geben.

Ausschließlich für Diplomanden und Dissertanten der Vortragenden, die bereits als solche angemeldet sind oder bereits ihr Forschungsvorhaben mit der Vortragenden besprochen haben.

Es wird empfohlen, im Rahmen des Bachelorstudiums bereits ein Wahlseminar im Bereich Architekturgeschichte oder Kunstgeschichte absolviert zu haben.
