After successful completion of the course, students are able to transfer the (art)historical questions and problems debated in the module to contemporary current topics and thus determine the relevance of what they have learned.
The architecture and art history module in the 2020/21 winter semester is dedicated to the Austrian baroque architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (1656–1723). In the associated lecture series “Current Trends in Architecture”, lectures by experts from related disciplines deal with current issues that are relevant in theory and practice.
The content of the lecture series is closely linked to the specific research topic of the module. In addition to the seminars, current trends in architecture and research are shown and discussed in the lecture series together with invited experts. In independently formulated essays, the students reflect on relevant issues and take a position on the content.
As part of a lecture series, well-known architects, art historians, professors from other universities etc. are invited to the lectures, who lecture on the respective topic and discuss it with the students.
