Individual target: Sharpening of understanding the experienced and efficient handling of scientific issues.
Institutional target: Qualitative optimization of scientific output.
Current lectures by international experts will be analysed, discussed and interpreted. By handling specific sets of themes, on the one hand, the course aims to extend students knowledge, and to stimulate a culture of discussion on the other.
The students find a working title according to their choice in the field of architectural history and work it out in a scientific way. Finally each student presents his/her scientific work in front of an audience and submits the final paper in a publishable form.
PROGRAM AND INTRODUCTION DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED HERE ASAP!
Bachelor and master theses as well as dissertations require an experienced dealing with scientific tools, adjusted to the individual scientific question. In this course topics in the field of architectural history and building research with regard to the development of efficient scientific working methods are discussed.
Students bring their own issues into the course, which will be discussed collectively with all participants and supervised individually.
The course takes place with annually changing themes. It centres on the international symposia organised by the Department of Architectural History and Building Research, as well as the evening lectures with extensive subsequent discussions held by external experts several times each semester. After discussions in the lecture hall, these lecturers will also be available for further exchange at the Institute. The content and import of one of the lectures, supplemented by the student s own comments, will be prepared in a paper and presented at the end of the semester. By participating in one of the symposia or the evening lectures with subsequent discussions, the students are given opportunities to come into close contact with internationally acclaimed academics and take an active part in advanced discussion.
ATTENTION : THE LECTURE DATES ARE NOT CORRESPONDING TO THE AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED DATES BUT WILL BE ANNOUNCED SEPARATELY!
