The aim of this lecture course is to present architectural history not as a file-past of styles but as consideration of architecture s constructive and functional typological aspects as they are reflected in selected thematic emphases. The focus will be on the analysis of architectonic developments within different epochs, their structural principles and constructive possibilities, and their reciprocal interplay as part of a complex history of architectonic ideas.

  - Konstruktionsprinzipien des griechischen und römischen Tempelbaus der Antike
  - Die christliche Basilika - Entwicklung eines Bautyps
  - Gastvortrag Irmengard Mayer - "Mittelalterlicher Kirchenbau in Wien"  (angefragt)
  
  
• Zwischen-Räume, Schwelle und Zonierung

• Der begrenzte Raum: Kloster, Knast und Festung

• Ruine und (künstliche) Ruine als entwurfliches Phänomen
