This course is an introduction to gender studies in architecture. Within the discipline of architecture, gender studies are especially important since built structures can be easily used to consolidate already existing social power relations.
Gender studies have feminist roots and attempt to establish a theoretical category, in which women's and men's studies act at the same level with the aim to overcome discrimination due to gender.
