Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • describe how a construction project is developed
  • describe the tasks and role of the project participants
  • specify how an object can be utilized
  • explain the main features of real estate law
  • apply the basics of project development in an exercise example


Subject of course

The student becomes acquainted with basic activities which include the professional profile of the property developer:

  • Project development

Property procurement and examination of the project prerequisites

property valuation

Development of the construction and utilisation concept

project calculation

financing concept

  • preparation for building
  • Project organisation (assembling and leading the team of planners and building contractors, project management)
  • Exploitation (organisation of letting or sale to consumers, investors or operators)

The students acquire the knowledge in real estate law necessary for the property developer, e.g:

  • Land register law
  • tax law
  • Condominium Act
  • tenancy law
  • Contracts for Developers Act

Using examples from property developers and project developers, students are given in-depth information on the subject matter.

Teaching methods

The methods for achieving the learning outcomes are:

  • lecture with the possibility to ask a question
  • additional self-study with the help of the script
  • transcript of presented lecture contents as supplement to the script
  • independent elaboration of a property developer and project development example

Literature

Es wird ein Skriptum zur LVA angeboten. Der Verkauf erfolgt in der ersten Unterrichtsstunde.

Previous knowledge

Es handelt sich um eine LVA für fortgeschrittene Studierende. Grundlegende Kenntnisse der Kalkulation und des Vertragsrechts aus den Bachelor Fächern werden jedenfalls vorausgesetzt (VO Bauwirtschaft 234.994, VO Kosten und Terminplanung 234.012). Vertiefte Kenntnisse aus Master-LVAs (SE Vertragsgestaltung und Vergabemanagement 234.165 und SE Bauprojektcontrolling 234.170) sind von Vorteil.
