Aim of course

This lecture is in W2b catalogue!

The Life Cycle Costs (LCC) calculation is increasingly gaining on importance as a decision making tool for architectural competitions. The investors are often requiring the LCC calculation already in the early planning stages.

Next to the LCC, the evaluation of the environmental impact and primary energy consumption of different materials throughout the life cycle of the building ¿ the so called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), plays the crucial role in almost all building certificates.

This class offers the insight in the fundamentals of LCC/LCA, and methodology for calculation. Within this framework, the methods and (software) tools will be introduced.

The homework is based on the calculation and evaluation of LCC/LCA for a small exemplary project.

The lecture takes two half-days (mornings); where homework will be handed out.

Homework (assignment) is to be turned in till July.
