After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• describe the structure of national and international construction contracts,
• reproduce basic principles of contract law,
• reproduce the essential contents of the ÖNORM B 2110,
• reproduce the essential contents of a FIDIC contract (Red Book),
• reproduce basic principles of alternative construction contract models and
• to describe the procedure of public procurement.

The methods used to achieve the learning outcomes are:

• Lecture with the possibility to pose questions
• Elaboration of a seminar paper
• Self-study

In order to participate in the seminar, attendance at the first lecture unit is required. If registered students do not appear at the first lecture session, they will be deregistered from the seminar. Students on the waiting list who are present will be moved up to any places that become available.

In order to complete the seminar positively, all three performance certificates must be completed positively on their own. Constructive cooperation during the lecture units can have a positive effect on the overall assessment.

This is a course for advanced students. Basic knowledge of public procurement and contract law is helpful.
