Subject of course

Teaching the methods of multidisciplinary planning on the topic of resource-efficient cities. This includes the careful use of space, materials, water and other goods.

The possibilities of planning a city in a resource-efficient and sustainable way are shown, as well as the difficulties that already exist in existing city districts and urban extensions, and the possibilities and concepts that can be pursued.

Teaching methods

Presentations of experts with a discussion of the topics aftermath.

Independent research and writing of a seminar paper

For a positive assessment, attendance is compulsory for at least 3 of the 4 lectures.

There will be 4 lectures on Wednesdays from 17:00-19:00.

The paper has to be uploaded on TUWEL.

For the positive completion of the course, it is necessary to submit at least four reports. The report shall be written in English or german.

Examination modalities

Submission of a seminar paper in which at least three lectures are integrated, including:

  • A cover sheet with name and matriculation number
  • Summary of the presented contents (at least 500 words)
  • Summary of the literature review (at least 500 words)
  • Own opinion of the topics (at least 500 words)
  • Underline your own opinion by researching and integrating sources and visual material into your paper.

The seminar paper has to be uploaded to TUWEL by 27 January 2023, 23:59.
