Starting from the basic concepts of economics  it will be discussed in more detail on the specific characteristics of the transport sector in relation to the meaning of a state and its mechanisms that influence traffic. In addition to the economic foundations represent the knowledge of the economic and legal framework of the passenger and freight transport on a regional, national and international levels as well as learning the basics of logistics and knowledge of the financing of transport infrastructure is a main focus of this lecture

To establish a special current to the practice, parst of this course are held by external contributors. In addition, the learned theory is illustrated in the context of a field trip to a logistics center in the Vienna area.
