After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply acquired knowledge from the field of local public transport to projects in practice. Students are able to understand and apply the interdisciplinary planning approaches.
Contents of this seminar is a project week in cooperation with the Vienna University of Technology Transport Association Eastern Region (VOR).The focus of the seminar, the planning of the public transport services available for a selected planning area, which will be developed in small groups on different solutions. The aim of the event is to provide the participants with an insight into the complex processes in the supply of public transport planning and apply the knowledge gained by means of a planning project. The results are presented at the end of the week as part of a presentation and a final report to the management control of the VOR.During the seminar week, the staff of the VOR with keynote speeches on the topic of service design and expert feedback on the business plan.
Lectures, interviews with experts, local inspections at project-specific locations, discussions of plans, discussion of case studies.
The project seminar is held at the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR) and the TU Wien.
The processing of the project task is done in groups. A key task is to graphically implement the ideas developed in an appropriate manner in plans, sketches and posters and to present the ideas.The performance test is based on the participation in the project week, by the presentation of the project results and a final report.
For the seminar no previous experience is required. The completion of the course railways is recommended.
