Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to cope with the corona pandemic  and climate change / Agenda 2030 with the variety of scientific perspectives, controversies and conflicting goals. Students gain an increased understanding of scientific methodology and scientific thinking and the ability to conduct dialogues between different positions and perspectives.


Subject of course

The lecture series is conducted in cooperation with other universities. On the one hand, expertise from various disciplines as well as transdisciplinary links are taught to enable students to ask questions and develop solutions to complex problems. The topics include medicine, climate and transport sciences, digitalisation, public health, statistics, psyche, law, economics, history, ecology and sustainability, political science, peace research, philosophy and ethics, etc. On the other hand, based on divergent approaches and analyses  scientific methods and scientific legitimacy are discussed.

Teaching methods

Livestream lectures mixed with online-live discussions, possibly also with presence elements. The lectures are recorded and are available to students via learning platforms.
