After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

Instruction in regard to scientific work for doctor s theses in respect to the given requirements

  • to develop and formulate a research question autonomously
  • summerize international publications and the state of the art on a selected scientific topic and cite correctly
  • to develop and carry out suitable experiments and / or numerical simulations to answer the research question
  • analyse the obtained experimental data based on scientific methods
  • critically review and evaluate the results and findings gained in the context of the state of the art
  • summarize findings from the scientific work in international journals

 

Subject of course

Discussion and recherches of references, overview about existing references, discussion about results and presentation of the theses

Teaching methods

Formulation and discussion of the research question, review of the literature research and presentation of the state of the art, defintion of individual work and evaluation steps and regarding milestones, ongoing presentation of the work in joint seminars, co-authoring & correction of written journal contributions to publish the reseach results
