Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • to develop and formulate a research question
  • summerize international publications and the state of the art on a selected scientific topic and cite correctly
  • to develop and carry out suitable experiments and / or numerical simulations to answer the research question
  • analyse the obtained experimental data based on scientific methods
  • critically review and evaluate the results and findings gained in the context of the state of the art
  • summarize findings from the scientific work in a compact manner and, if appropriate, derive further open or further questions

Scientific, technical topics in the field of road engineering

Teaching methods

Formulation and discussion of the research question, review of the literature research and presentation of the state of the art, defintion of individual work and evaluation steps and regarding milestones, ongoing presentation of the work in joint seminars, content correction of the written thesis
