After successful completion of the course, students are able to handle the tools of zoning, land use planning and traffic planning in a responsible manner. They can discover the obstacles in the legal system for ecologically future-oriented transport planning and recognize and use the aesthetics and design as elements of transport planning and settlement planning.

Elements of urban planning; impact mechanism between urban planning and the transport system; influences of aesthetics and spatial design; urban system, transport system - economic effects; principles of design for human urban settlements; instruments and their shortcomings for urban and transport planning; consequences of inadequate urban planning with the depiction of their effects and consequences; energy consumption, environmental exposure as consequences of a deficient urban and transport planning.
