After successful completion of the course, students are able to work independently on practical railway engineering and railway enomics tasks. Students can write reports with appropriate methodology and structure.
The theme of the project seminar can be from all areas of the educational institution, whereby existing software packages are specifically freely available. The Institute offers regular projects that have a strong practical and partly carried out at the suggestion of external companies. This ensures that students not only able to implement the best practice-oriented theoretical knowledge, but also perform interesting work with a real background.

The scope of this project thesis is to analyse the construction of a third track between Vienna and Klosterneuburg for better timetable stability and in order to run more trains. Different scenarios should be elaborated and investigated with a simulation or timetable construction program.
Investigation and evaluation of propulsion concepts on the Wocheiner Bahn (Jesenice - Nova Gorica / Gorizia)
For the Wocheiner railway line (Jesenice - Nova Gorica / Gorizia) various propulsion concepts (diesel, hydrogen, battery operation) in passenger and freight traffic are to be examined with the help of the FBS software.
Depending on the topic, software-supported work, interviews with specialists, counts, surveys or questionnaire evaluations, for example, are applicable.
