After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe the planning principles for the design of barrier-free public spaces, stops and interchanges of public transport. With lectures by leading experts in the field of barrier-free planning and practical exercises in inclusive inspections of selected places with the experts, the students learn to apply their knowledge in a practical way....

• Introduction into the theme ¿ disabled people (definitions, demographic development, problem size) 
• Basic concepts of barrier free design for public spaces
• Existing planning principles and laws and norms
• Introduction in methods to assess barrier free design for public spaces 
• Team home work ¿ assessment of existing public transport stations regarding their barrier freeness and recommendations to improve the existing situation towards barrier free design
