Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • recognize the hazard potential of substances towards organisms.
  • derive endpoints from dose-response curves.
  • understand methods of hazard identification.
  • estimate the risk potential of substances.
  • assess the behaviour, distribution, and accumulation potential of substances.
  • determine mixture toxicity.
  • find information on substances of very high concern online.
  • understand the issues related to PFAS, microplastics, endocrine disruptors.

Teaching methods

Introductory lectures on relevant topics. The lecture will be interactive. Examples are used to improve the learning content. Discussions and questions are an integral part of each lecture.
