Aim of course

Subject of course

The basic structural behavior of dams in interaction with the foundation influence is discussed in detail. Efficient preliminary and closer analysis methods under consideration of zones of weakness (dam foundation interface) are presented. Temperature effects, dynamic loading, etc. are considered and evaluated on the basis of actual cases. The special properties of mass concrete (hydration-heat-development, grain size-related material strengths, etc.) and their impact on the design and construction are treated.
