Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to overview the interrelationships between the natural processes in water resources and the various aspects of use in hydraulic engineering and water management measures.

Subject of course

Water resources: surface water bodies, groundwater bodies. Functions of water bodies: storage, transport; filtering; habitat function. Water resources management activites und usage: withdrawal; recharge; storage; flow control. Fundamentals of river basin management plans.

Teaching methods

Frontal lectures partially possible online, interrupted by short "Q&A sessions / homeworks" on the respective topic.
