Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • work on scientific questions of their PhD-thesis in a solution-oriented way,
  • correctly conceive the dissertation methodically and in terms of content,
  • discuss their research topic on a scientific level,
  • present their work professionally.

Subject of course

Specific topics of the field of research, in-situ experiments and different data evaluation and analysis methods. An active discussion of the theoretical approach and presented results, followed by future ideas.

Teaching methods

Students present the work progress on their dissertation in front of department colleagues and the supervising professor on a regular basis (approximately two times per year). They receive valuable feedback on the research and are encouraged to discuss the research topic in the course of which they receive possible new ideas and literature suggestions for future work.
