Aim of course

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the basics of scientific work and epistemology, as well as to present their research results professionally orally and to prepare them in writing for publications.

Subject of course

1.) Fundamentals of the History of Science and Epistemology from Empiricism to Theory  

2.) Literature research and source study; the importance of primary sources; Citation rules of the different scientific disciplines  

3.) Structure and presentation of presentations; Task of the students: Preparation and holding of a 10-minute presentation (PP) on a specific topic  

4.) Structure and structure of a publication; Task of students in groups of two: Preparation of a short version / abstract for submission to a fictional congress; Elaboration of a 5-page long version in German and English
