The basic concepts of continuum mechanics and elasticity theory are reviewed. However, the course focusses on nonlinear mathematical models for soils like elastoplasticity, hypoplasticity and barodesy. The concepts of these constitutive models are discussed. In addition, the lecture includes an overview of the application of plastic limit load analysis, used in structural analysis and conservation laws in soil mechanical modelling.
Basics of continuum mechanics and elasticity theory for soil mechanical modelling are presented. Consequently, nonlinear constitutive models for soil and their differences are discussed. In addition, an overview of the application of plastic limit load analysis, used in structural analysis in soil mechanical modelling is given. Furthermore, the meaning of conservation laws for soil mechanical modelling will be explained. Simple numeric examples can be solved with the knowledge provided in this lecture.
The course will not be held in SS 2021.The next lecture date is scheduled for SS 2022.
Written exam with numerical continuum mechanics related examples (e.g. parameter identification for linear elasticity with given stress and deformation state).
The graduation of the following courses, in the meaning of a soil mechanical education, are listed as a condition, in order to be able to follow the contents conveyed:
