After successful completion of the course, students are able to conduct wedge analysis (sphere diagram), to design rock fall safety nets after ONR24810 and/or to assess slope stability. We provide practical hands-on examples.
Wedge analysis, rock fall safety net design, slope stability.
Treatment of a rock mechanical problem to assess the stability of or design a structure in / on rock using mathematical methods or experimental methods or on the basis of field explorations (it is possible to combine this lecture with the Finite-Difference-Models in Geoengineering LVA Nr. 220.015).
Three examples are introduced in the first session. Duads choose one example and work it out over the semester.
A second session is provided for Q&A.
Lecture notes for this course are available. Ein Skriptum zur Lehrveranstaltung ist erhältlich.
