Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve complex tasks regarding concrete constructions and earthquake engineering

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Earthquake resistant design,
  • fiber reinforced concrete,
  • fiber reinforced composites,
  • pre-cast elements and
  • masonry.

Subject of course

Earthquake resistant design, fiber reinforced concrete, fiber reinforced composites, pre-cast elements and masonry are discussed, using examples from current structures.

Teaching methods

Lectures on the theoretical background in order to understand the design of concrete structures for earthquake loading and concrete reinforced with fibers.
