Subject of course

Introduction of the methods of multidisciplinary planning on the topic of Sustainable Building Stock. This includes the careful handling of existing resources, for which the lecture series provides in-depth insights into:

  • AI-supported documentation and analysis of existing buildings,
  • Innovative concepts of vertical factories,
  • Re-Use and sustainability assessment systems,
  • Integrated modeling of mobility systems and
  • Consciousness, life cycle-oriented, and economic viability of circular construction.

Teaching methods

Expert lectures from various disciplines followed by discussion.

Independent research and writing of a seminar paper.

For a positive assessment, attendance is mandatory for at least 4 out of the 5 lectures.

To successfully complete the course, a minimum score of 60 points is required! The seminar paper is to be written in German or English.

Examination modalities

Research on 3 scientific articles relevant to the presented content. Submission of a seminar paper that must include:

  • A cover page with name and matriculation number
  • Summary of the presented content (at least 500 words)
  • Summary of the researched publications (at least 500 words)
  • Personal opinion on the respective topics (at least 500 words)
  • Reinforcement of personal opinion through research and incorporation of sources and visuals into the seminar paper

The seminar paper is to be uploaded to TUWEL by June 30th, 23:59.
