Climate change and its associated consequences represent one of the greatest global challenges of the present and the future. The building industry in particular plays a major role here, as it is responsible for around 40% of emissions, 40% of final energy consumption, and the majority of resource consumption and waste production. Climate protection can therefore only work if the ecologization of the building sector progresses.The course "Ecological BuildingTechnologies 1" teaches students the basics of ecological and health impacts of conventional construction as well as basic functionalities and technologies of climate-adapted and ecological construction. The content of the course is presented frontally as well as discussed interactively with the students and intensified by exercises in the LVA. The lecture units are supplemented by three excursions in the Vienna area, where practical examples of ecological constructions and buildings are visited.
Lectures on various topics of ecological construction with interactive elements. The course content will be deepened in the course of three excursions in the Vienna area visiting practical examples of ecological constructions and buildings.The lecture starts in an online format. Depending on the course of the Corona pandemic, a switch to presence teaching is possible. The excursions are planned to take place in presence in the Vienna area. The locations will be announced.
There is a 75% attendance requirement for the course. That means:- Attendance of at least 7 of 9 lecture dates and- participation in at least 2 of 3 excursionsare required to be admitted to the exam.The exam will probably take place on 27.6.2022 as a written online exam via TUWEL and ZOOM.
