After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

... to estimate the impact of construction on people and environment.

... to critically question the health and ecological effects.

... to develop a holistic view of the interdisciplinarity of construction processes.

Subject of course

What are current decisions in the construction industry based on? How do these decisions affect other disciplines? What consequences do these have on our everyday life and health? How do we deal with our environment?

Decisions about the built environment affect all people and all habitats. It is the responsibility of technicians today and in the future to make these far-reaching decisions. In order to develop an attitude to these ethical requirements, it is necessary to form an overview of this cross-sectional matter. Because a solution for sustainable development can only be implemented in an interdisciplinary manner and in cooperation between different disciplines.

In this lecture series, lectures by experts will provide both a broad basis and in-depth insights into the respective subject areas. The lecturers come from the fields of civil engineering and other engineering sciences as well as from life sciences and medicine. In addition, experts from other scientific institutions and authorities are also represented.

This thematic composition of the lectures provides an interdisciplinary added value for students of all disciplines. The lecture series "Technology for People - Building for People" is intended to encourage students to critically question their own department and their own actions in this context.
