After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the formal and technical skills for structural design. They are able to recognize the relationship to other structural subjects and material science related lectures. They know basic requirements for support structures as well as the legal and normative specifications and detection principles. Furthermore, students are able to distinguish and analyze structural systems in building construction and special structures.
Introduction to structural design in the context of interdisciplinary design of structures: formal requirements (legal norms and standards); Basic assignment or mutual references of actions and material or construction resistances; Building material-specific load bearing models and impact models of simple structures or structural parts.
