Aim of course

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge of how building construction behave when they are exposed to heat and moisture and how the energy demand of a building is influenced by a proper choice of constructions for the building envelope. This includes predictions of heat and moisture distributions in materials, the prediction of operative temperature and relative humidity in rooms and their consequences on different functional properties especially on the energy demand for heating and cooling. Focus will be made on building envelope for nearly zero energy buildings and (plus)-plus-energy-buildings.

Subject of course

*Evaluate heat and moisture conditions in air and constructions with varying boundary conditions.

*Evaluate energy demand of buildings with simplified methods

*Evaluate thermal comfort in rooms with simplified dynamic thermal simulations

*Understand the concepts and design methods for nearly-zero-energy buildings and (plus)-plus-energy buildings
