Aim of course

Acquirement of methods of structural dynamics and application of seismic and wind design approaches (e.g. Response Spectra). Insight into the dynamic behavior of structures and proper choice of the problem oriented calculation procedures.

Subject of course

Modal analyis of structures. Calculation of natural frequencies and mode shapes by means of numerical methods. Special problems of seismic excitation. Modal earthquake response spectra. Application to single and multiple excitation. Vibration isolation. Problems of design with emphasis on wind and earthquake excitation. Basic concepts of stochastic processes. Engine-induced oscillations.
