Aim of course

Understanding of phenomenona in structural dynamics by means of experiments with small-scale structural models. Arousing of interest in structural dynamics and realizing of its importance in practice of constructions.

Subject of course

Measurement equipment for recording of time-dependent mechanical parameters(sensors, amplifiers, display of measured data, processing of recorded data). Experimental determination of natural frequencies and damping coefficients considering as example beam- and multistory frame structures by applying piezoelectric accelerometers and force transducers. Demonstration of passive vibration control considering a three story shear frame. Introduction in analyses of signals in the time and freqeuncy domain. Application of strain gauge technique. Introduction in computer-controlled vibration techniques(software: BEAM, LABVIEW).
