Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to qualitatively assess the behavior of nonlinear dynamical systems. They have the ability to choose and apply appropriate numerical methods in dynamic analysis and to write software for simple graphical visualization and animation of dynamic processes.

Subject of course

Qualitative behavior of dynamical systems (Stability, attractors, Poincarè maps).

Numerical integration schemes for Hamiltonian systems (Symplecticity, stability).

3D graphics using slangTNG.

Development of a simple application for PC/Mac/iPad.

Teaching methods

Explanation of technical contents, calculation of exercise examples, individual work on projects.

Mode of examination

Immanent

Additional information

The course will be held as block on 26/27 May and 1/2 June 2021, each from 9:15 to 12:30. Details will be announced later.
