Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to present basic concepts of the dynamics of solids and fluids in a uniform manner and apply these to fundamental structural problems with the help of computational models.

Subject of course

Dynamics of Solids and Fluids, Conservation of Momentum, Conservation of Angular Momentum. Applications to Rigid-Body Dynamics. Linear Oscillations. Vibrations of Linear Elastic Beams. Kinetic Energy, The Law of Conservation of Kinetic Energy, and The Law of Conservation of Mechanical Energy. Applications to Single-Degree-of-Freedom Systems. Bernoulli`s Equation of Fluid Mechanics. Stability Problems (Equilibrium Configuration, Fundamental Motion). Lagrange Equations of Motion. Multi-Degree-of-Freedom Oscillators. Unbalanced Rotor. Approximate Methods of Dynamics and Statics.
