Aim of course

Application of fundamental principles and computational methods of dynamics developed in the lecture "Mechanik 1" to elementary problems of structural statics and hydrostatics.

Subject of course

Kinematics: Point Kinematics, Kinematics of Rigid Bodies, Kinematics of Deformable Bodies. The Continuity Equation. Statics: Forces, Force density, Stresses, Systems of Forces, Equilibrium, Statics of Simple Structures: Beams, Trusses, Flexible Cables, Mechanical Work. Power. Potential Energy, Pronciple of Virtual Work: Example: The Three-Hinged Arch. Conservative Mechanical Systems. Hydrostatics: Fluid under Gravity, Pressurized Fluids. The Gravitational Hydrostatic Pressure on Walls of Open Containers. Uplift. The Hydrostatic Buoyancy. Moments of Inertia of a Plane Area and Their Rules of Transformation.
