After successful completion of the course, students are able to master the basic knowledge and terminology in fire protection, to describe the essential fire phenomena and to name the normative principles of structural fire protection.
1. General introduction to fire protection: objectives of fire protection, principles of combustion. 2. Legal bases, standards: Structure of legal sources, type of legal sources, standards, directives. 3. Construction products: Behaviour of construction materials under high temperatures, construction products (classification, testing) 4. Fire protection measures: Structural fire protection, plant fire protection, organizational fire protection, defensive fire protection. 5. Fire protection planning: fire protection concepts, fire protection certificates (engineering methods).
