After successful completion of the course, students are able to distinguish tunnelling methods. They can explain the behaviour of rock mass (size effect/orientation), classify rock mass and name support measures and instrumentation/monitoring methods.
Tunneling methods, material behaviour, shape/orientation, theoretical background, rock classification, conventional tunneling, mechanical tunneling, montoring
Over the semester, after live ZOOM lectures and independent preparation (literature will be uploaded), exercise examples are to be worked out and uploaded to TUWEL by specific deadlines.
There will be a short quiz at the end to check attendance.
