After successful completion of the course, students are able to distinguish tunnelling methods. They can explain the behaviour of rock mass (size effect/orientation), classify rock mass and name support measures and instrumentation/monitoring methods.
Tunneling methods, material behaviour, shape/orientation, theoretical background, rock classification, conventional tunneling, mechanical tunneling, montoring
During the semester, several shorter and longer exercises (in groups) have to be worked out and submitted to TUWEL by certain deadlines.
In between, there will be further ZOOM meetings, if necessary, in which already submitted excercises can be discussed and questions about ongoing exercises can be asked.
