Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to 

- to analyze the load-bearing behavior of selected components or building structures using FEM

- to identify the depth of structural modeling required for this

- correctly interpret the calculation results

- Derive conclusions for solving the task


Subject of course

Application of non-linear finite element methods with Abaqus or RFEM

Identification and realization/implementation of suitable material modelling

Realization of realistic structure simulations with interpretation and documentation of the results

Parameter studies as a basis for further structural optimization
