Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain basic concepts of continuum mechanics and strength of materials and to accordingly derive theoretical interrelations between key physical properties.

Subject of course

Stress tensor, strength criteria, strain tensor, principal of virtual power, work/energy/elasticity, basics of beam theory, loss of stability
