Aim of course

Mastery of the mechanical prerequisites needed for strength-based civil engineering design; development of fundamentals for more advances courses, such as structural analysis, finite elements, engineering mechanics, thin-walled structures.

Subject of course

Stress tensor, strength criteria, strain tensor, principal of virtual power, work/energy/elasticity, basics of beam theory, loss of stability
