Aim of course

Good comprehension of the mechanical background for the computation of the strength of structures in civil engineering, formulation of the scientific foundations for lectures based on this course (Structural Analysis, Finite Elements, Thin-walled Structures, ...).

Subject of course

Fundamentals of the theory of elasticity and plasticity, material models, principles of virtual work for deformable solids, theory of beams (axial deformation, pure bending, bending and shear, torsion, combined modes of deformation), loss of stability of equilibrium.

From WS 2017/2018 onwards this lecture will be replaced by 202.664 Festigkeitslehre, VO.

The last written exam for this lecture will be held in January 2019. After this time, it is not possible to take a written exam in this lecture.
