After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
- understand the theoretical contents and their application in construction practice through demonstrated examples,
- comprehend the manufacturing processes at the plant,
- better understand the construction methods in timber building projects, and
- record essential information and details during inspections and evaluations, and to present them in a technical report.
As part of the excursion on xxxxxx, a plant of a wood-processing company as well as several current timber construction sites in the Vienna and Lower Austria areas will be visited. Further information can be found in the information sheet under "Documents".
Excursion
Mandatory attendance.
The number of participants is limited to 40 people.
The excursion is aimed at civil engineering students from the fifth semester onwards.

The documentation of the students’ performance consists of mandatory attendance and the creation of a two-page technical report. The report should not be less than 300 words and should contain at least one scientific or industry-specific source. A maximum of two illustrations are allowed. Texts must be formulated independently; adopting parts of texts from other sources without proper citation is not permitted. The assessment criteria are: content, writing style, spelling, and formatting.
