After successful completion of the course, students are able to comprehend modern theories of advanced macro- & micromechanics of materials, up to a level which allows them to assign them to the solution of practical problemsin civil and bioengineering.
- fundamentals of continuum mechanics -- representative volume element - thermodynamics of porous continua - poroelasticity - poroplasticity - fundamentals of continuum micromechanics - applications in geo and bioengineering (e.g. tunneling, orthopaedics, wood engineering)
Lecture at the blackboard; presentation of slide collection and selected scientific papers; open discussion with the students
Whenever possible, courses are held in hybrid mode in a blocked format. If there is a lack of hybrid-capable lecture halls, the course will be held in a face-to-face or online format, depending on the infection situation. At the beginning of the semester, a date survey is created in which students can enter their availability with regard to possible lecture dates. If possible, the course will be held in a hybrid mode. The lectures will take place in the lecture hall under the applicable security measures of the TU Vienna, see https://www.tuwien.at/tu-wien/corona.In order to get access to the TUWEL course from the start of the semester, a non-binding electronic registration for the course "202. 051 Advanced Macro- & Micromechanics of Materials" in TISS is required. Method:Whenever possible, courses will be held in hybrid mode in a blocked format. In case of shortage of hybrid-capable lecture halls, the course will be held in face-to-face or online format according to the infection situation. The dates of the courses will be agreed upon in a schedule survey at the beginning of the semester. The exchange of information between lecturers and students also takes place via the TUWEL course of the course, where course documents are also made available. This includes lecture notes, the presentation slides for the exercise lectures, the specification sheet of the homework example. Grading scheme in the examination:Written homework and oral exam at the end of the semester.Required technical equipment for participation in course and exam: Whenever possible, courses will be held in hybrid mode in a blocked format.
