After successful completion of the course, students are able to comprehend modern theories of advanced macro- & micromechanics of materials, up to a level which allows them to assign them to the solution of practical problemsin civil and bioengineering.

With reference to the COVID-19 University and Higher Education Ordinance of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, the Institute for Mechanics of Materials and Structures at the Vienna University of Technology has put COVID-19 remote examination regulations into effect on April 29, 2020. Until further notice, the distance examination regulations replace the face-to-face examination regulations that were valid before.

Method:
The courses take place online with the help of the Zoom video conference system. The exchange of information between lecturers and students also takes place via the TUWEL course of the course. Electronic documents are also made available via the TUWEL course.
Presentation of slide collection and selected scientific articles; open online discussion with students.
Examination mode & assessment scheme for the online exam:
Written assignment and online oral exam at the end of the semester.
