This is a visiting professor course of the Vienna PhD School of Informatics.

Students will be placed into small teams to work on a challenge task in the field of recommender systems. Following some introductory lectures, teams will work independently on the challenge task. Teams will explore the research literature, identify ideas that might provide solutions to the challenge task, implement these solutions and evaluate them both qualitatively and quantitatively. Midway through the module, teams will present their work to the lecturer, and they will present their work to the whole class at the end of the module.
