-          model structure, behavior, and items/data of computer integrated systems
-          verify the correctness of models
-          compare advantages and disadvantages of different models of a system
-          criticize, update and (if necessary) improve a given model.

Subject of course

The lecturer of this course will be Wolfgang Reisig / Humboldt-Universitaet Berlin.

-          (historical) survey over the most important modeling methods
-          Principles and systematic foundations of modeling a system: architecture, behavior, items/data
-          Case studies of various areas
-          Conventions and techniques in practice

Teaching methods

Contents is introduced in lectures and deepened in corresponding exercises. Active participation of students is most welcome. Each student has to present a case study.

This is a guest professor course of the TU Wien Informatics Doctoral School. The course is open to all PhD students and interested Master students.

6 h                       preparation of the presentation of the own case study
