Aim of course

The goal of this course is to learn from internationally recognized visiting professors research topics in different areas of Computer Science.

Subject of course

Visiting professors invited by the Vienna PhD School of Informatics will give a 45-minute talk about their research area.

Examination modalities

Students will be graded provided that the following requirements are fulfilled:

 

  • Attendance to at least 3 talks (signature on the list of participants).
  • Submission of assignment.

The assignment consists of a written summary of 3 of the talks attended.
For students who attend 3 talks this report must comprise at least 3 pages for each talk.
Students who attend 4 or more talks may choose 3 of those for their report and give a summary of at least 2 pages for each.

Talks will be offered both in winter term 2017/18 (three talks) and summer term 2018 (plan is to have another three), and any combination of those may be chosen.

These summaries should be written in English and in latex (a template will be provided in TUWEL). The deadline for submission of the assignment is July 31st at 23:55h through TUWEL.
